Over the past week-and-change, I’ve been spending some time looking at MMORPG Tycoon 2’s rendering technology, and I’m getting ready to roll out a pretty major evolution of the game’s general appearance inside the MMORPG simulation itself.

I keep arguing with myself over whether the lighting isn’t a little too extreme in these shots. Maybe I ought to tone it down a little. Anybody have opinions?


In my opinion I think the shadows are fine and the implementation gives a more realistic touch to the game (much more) but in this type of games I think the shadows are not so important. There is no problem since you wrote the shadows that you can disable and activate, if the player does not like how it looks with the shadows you can simply disable
