Game not working.

Hello,
When I try to play the game, it makes the starter robotic sound and then gets stuck on that sound and it keeps buzzing, then it says not responding.
This happens everytime I try to play. If there is a fix please get back.

What sort of computer are you running the game on? Can you tell me laptop/desktop, Mac/Windows, and ideally information like the CPU, GPU, and memory.

CPU- Ryzen 5 3550H
GPU- GeForce GTX 1650
Memory- 8GB

Hm… can you check for two files: There’ll be one at %appdata%/roaming/VectorStorm/MMORPG Tycoon 2/log.txt, and there might be a second one in the game’s install directory (wherever you had Steam put it), crash.rpt.

Can you take a look for those two files and send them to me so I can take a look? (Again, the ‘crash.rpt’ one might actually not exist. The ‘log.txt’ one definitely should, though!) They may contain some information that’ll give us a clue what’s going wrong.

But a thing to check is upgrading your video drivers, if you haven’t done that recently. We’ve also had a few folks who’ve had troubles when using a laptop to a monitor via a dock, and had more luck when running it on the laptop’s built-in screen. Not sure whether that’s relevant to you, but it’s another thing to try if you haven’t already, to help us figure out what the problem might be!

Yes i could not find the crash.rpt file, only the log.txt one.

That’s an old build of the game; the current build is 0.18.10 on Steam, while you’re on 0.18.0, and there have been some important bug fixes. Can you let Steam update the game and try again?

All right, so I finally figured out how to run the game now! Basically, the time it said not responding, it was creating some folders in the “sys” folder and when I noticed this I just let the game go for about 30 minutes. To my surprise the game worked like a charm after all the required folders were created(I am guessing that is why it was not working before. I still do have to wait like 2-3 minutes for the start up but other than that, the problem is fixed now, I am having no more issues and am enjoying the heck out of the game.
